Whilst an earlier EA Play Live revealed more about Battlefield Hub, remastered fan-favorite maps, and new details for Battlefield 2042, players still have many unanswered questions.

Now, more details have been revealed regarding how cross-play will work in Battlefield 2042. Interestingly, Call of Duty: Warzone’s opt-out crossplay system has done little to fix some serious problems for the game. In fact, it appears that this decision has managed to taint the battle royale experience for the majority of console users.

Sadly Battlefield 2042 will not be able to bridge the gap between older and next-gen consoles in terms of cross-play. Unfortunately, this does mean that Xbox One users will not be able to play with Series X or PlayStation 5 users for example.

Whilst somewhat disappointing, it is understandable given the hardware differences between older and next-gen consoles. However, recently Battlefield 2042 unveiled its official partners giving players a glimpse of the technical capabilities of the new game.

However, at least players can look forward to Battlefield 2042’s mysterious Hazard Zone game mode. Interestingly, new leaked details regarding Hazard Zone have emerged ahead of the next EA Play Live event on July 22. Although, exciting new details regarding the mode are coming soon.
