Battlefield 2042 Official Release Date Revealed

The Battlefield 2042 reveal is finally here, and EA is announcing the game’s official release date at last.

After months of speculation, shaky leaks, and more than a little hype, Battlefield 2042 has arrived. Today, EA finally dropped the long-awaited trailer for Battlefield’s upcoming title, and it looks like everything we were hoping for.

A Battlefield title set in the near future, with a return to ‘modern-day’ combat. No longer will the game be focussing on historical warfare, news that’s music to the ears of many old-school Battlefield fans.

It’s clear that DICE’s upcoming shooter is one of the most highly anticipated games of this year – but when exactly is Battlefield 2042’s release date?

Battlefield 2042 Release Date Reveal

Finally, we can officially reveal that the Battlefield 2042 release date is October 22, 2021.

This news comes prior to the release of the incredible new Battlefield 2042 trailer – which you can watch here! Battlefield is back in a major way, and we’re looking forward to seeing more from the game.

And you won’t have to wait until October to play the game for yourself if rumors are true. After all, there’s a Battlefield 2042 Open Beta that will let you play the game early!

What’s more, while Battlefield 2042 officially launches on the 22nd, EA Play and EA Pro members can access the game early from October 15 onward. Pre-ordering the upcoming shooter will also give players access to the October 15 release date!

We’re sure to be seeing more from Battlefield at E3 2021 in a few days’ time. Rumors suggest that Battlefield may be an Xbox Game Pass launch title, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled during Microsoft’s showcase.

And finally, there’s some bad news for early next-gen adopters. It looks like Battlefield 2042 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One consoles, leading to rumors that the game will split its player base somewhat with next-gen features.
