Battlefield 2042 has been in the news recently, for its confirmed delayed release date.
Now, this title is back making headlines with good news for its fans. Today, the EA announced the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta
This announcement presented more elements of the game. Namely, we have more information about Mastery cosmetics and weapon skin details.
But you’ll need a strong PC to run the Beta, according to Battlefield 2042’s official system requirements!
Battlefield 2042 Mastery Cosmetics & Weapon Skins
Mastery ties directly to the experience gained with the weapon you decide to use. Specifically, this comes in the form of usual weapon challenges, such as reaching a certain amount of kills.
As a prize for meeting these challenges, Battlefield 2042 rewards its players with new attachments and customization elements for their weapons.
For instance, you can get a new scope for reaching a determined amount of kills with a certain weapon.
As well, for those who are into the visual flare, Mastery covers this with ease. This reward system also features weapon skins and mastery Badges for your Player Card.
This system aims to keep players engaged as they progress. So, in a nutshell, consistency is key to unlock top Mastery rewards.
Battlefield 2042 Skin Details
Additionally, EA confirmed that cosmetics can be earned by progression or directly by purchasing them.
Furthermore, the rarity tiers of cosmetics will be:
- Common (Grey)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
- Legendary (Gold)
We also know now that Rare and Epic Specialists skins will feature a Headgear and a Body component. To allow personalization, Headgears can be matched with different bodies.
Although, this is not the case with Legendary skins. These skins in particular consist only of a single outfit that can’t be matched with other skins.
You can get access to this Battlefield 2042 Legendary skin for Irish right now!
As for weapon skins, this will apply to the whole weapon. This means that any attachment you have on your weapon will also be affected by the skin in use.
For further weapon customization, charms will be available to unlock.
The customization won’t end on Specialists and weapons. In addition, vehicles will also receive skins and decals.
Lastly, melee weapons will be attainable through Player Levels and progression. Each of these weapons will feature a unique Takedown animation.
