DICE has just revealed the first look at a huge new Battlefield 2042 game mode – here’s everything you need to know about Hazard Zone.
Battlefield 2042 is fast approaching and, finally, DICE has shared more about an exciting new game mode. The Hazard Zone trailer has finally dropped.
Of course, the trailer announced what exactly Hazard Zone is. However, DICE also used it to explain the game mode in detail too.
What is Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone?
Following the reveal of some very interesting Battlefield 2042 Beta statistics, DICE has now dropped the reveal trailer for an exciting new game mode.
Hazard Zone is a new game mode coming to Battlefield 2042 that revolves around satellites. Squads of 4 players will be fighting each other as well as AI opponents to secure and extract data drives.
Every squad will be made up of 4 different Specialists, who each choose their weapons and equipment. Unfortunately, not everyone can have a grappling hook in this mode!
Additionally, the data drives hold crucial information that, when extracted, give players Dark Market Credits. This is a Hazard Zone exclusive currency that can be used to buy weapons, gadgets, and upgrades for the next match.
But the real question is how many players will be dropping to Hazard Zone on the 7 huge Battlefield 2042 launch maps?
Hazard Zone Player Count
There will be huge differences between Battlefield 2042 on next-gen and last-gen consoles. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Hazard Zone will be on a smaller scale on last-gen systems.
On next-gen consoles and PC, Hazard Zone will have 32 players. Meanwhile, the PS4 and Xbox One Hazard Zone player count is 24.
Battlefield Hazard Zone Release Date
Despite rumors that the mode could be delayed or saved until after the full game’s launch, Hazard Zone will be arriving on the new Battlefield 2042 release date.
This is great news for gamers who can’t wait to try out this exciting new mode. Although, many fans want DICE to delay Battlefield 2042 again.
