Battlefield 2042 Content Updates Might Not Be Enough to Save the Game

Battlefield 2042 is set to get some new content updates in the future, but it might not be enough to save the game.

Over the last 2 months, Battlefield 2042 players have been losing faith in the franchise. Although the game didn’t launch in an ideal state, not many games seem to be perfect on release day lately.

But although titles such as Halo Infinite and Call of Duty Vanguard still have a dedicated fan base, Battlefield 2042’s player count is dropping fast.

Recently, we’ve seen Battlefield 2042 bots begin to fill up servers as players leave the game. And now, fans don’t even think that new content will be enough to save Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 Players Want a Full Rework to the Game

Although fans want Battlefield 2042 to one day be the title it has the potential to be, that might require a full rework to the game.

Users over on the Battlefield 2042 subreddit aren’t so sure that waiting for Battlefield 2042 to get new content is the answer to its problems. Not only are there some deeper, ingrained issues with the new game that need fixing, but the game might not even survive until new content arrives.

“I honestly would want this game to turn around but honestly it would require almost a remake. Which is a lot of work,” Reddit user urajsiette writes.

A popular post on the Battlefield 2042 subreddit, the user’s opinion states that new content isn’t going to be enough, even when it does arrive. And we’re already getting leaks for a new Battlefield 2042 map arriving in March with Season 1.

“I don’t think the current DICE team has it in them to fix this,” Reddit user LeHolm agrees. “The foundation for the game has been laid and that seems to be set in stone so there is no hope there.”

Now, EA is calling fan expectations ‘brutal’, which isn’t a good sign either.

We can’t expect too many changes coming before Season 1, according to DICE. Although the Battlefield 2042 team is still on vacation right now, the new Battlefield Director says improvements will “take some time” even when DICE is back at work.

But already Battlefield 2042 players are giving up after long matchmaking times

And with Battlefield 5 already beating Battlefield 2042 in player count on Steam, who knows how many fans will stick around long-term.

Reddit shouldn't be used as a source, it's toxic, has always been toxic, and your team know this. Your articles are lazy journalism and will contribute to the decline of a game that a lot of people enjoy. You should be ashamed
