If Battlefield 2042’s wide-open environments aren’t for you, maybe check out this fast-paced game mode on launch day.
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is finally here, and players are dropping into this year’s upcoming shooter with high expectations. Unfortunately, not all of these expectations are being met.
Of course, this is perfectly normal when it comes to a Beta. But Battlefield 2042 fans still hate Specialists even after seeing them in action.
Finally, find out why Battlefield 2042 Beta players are turning off crossplay already!
Battlefield 2042 New Breakthrough Game Mode Teased
We already have a tease for a new Battlefield 2042 game mode, thanks to one of the title’s developers.
It’s clear to see, Battlefield 2042 has some truly incredible maps coming at launch. However, players are already noting one major issue with the playable areas.
On next-gen consoles, Orbital seems a little too large for the number of players running around the map. Interestingly, this issue isn’t as prevalent on Xbox One and PS4 devices, which feature a smaller, more restricted area.
In some ways, those on older hardware actually have an advantage in Battlefield 2042 right now. However, it’ll be a different story on launch day.
According to a new tweet by Kalle Nyström, one of Battlefield 2042’s level designers, fans of fast-paced gameplay are in luck.
Nyström appears to be teasing a new game mode that features all 128 players in just the Orbital Assembly building.
It seems that the developer is implying that this is the previously-teased Breakthrough game mode, which promises to be a much faster-paced experience.
Breakthrough has appeared in Battlefield 1 and 5, featuring an attacking and defending team fighting to dominate the map. Players must control a number of sectors and force their opponents further back into the map.
Of course, Battlefield 2042 will likely be making some significant changes too.
Whatever the final mode looks like, it’s sure to be chaotic and a lot of fun to play. Especially if you’re growing a little tired of wide-open environments in the Battlefield 2042 Beta.
Meanwhile, we just got a huge leak for Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Mode! The upcoming game mode is one of the title’s most anticipated features, that we previously knew little about!
And if you want more content, we’ve got eyes on the Battlefield 2042 Season 1 ‘Ridge’ map that is coming after launch!
