Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Online Subscription Requirements

The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will not require PS Plus. Although, it will require Xbox Live Gold.

This poses many questions. Especially because EA has a solid relationship between its EA Play service and Microsoft’s Xbox and PC Game Pass.

It is unknown if this might change before the Battlefield 2042 Beta arrives in October. Considering fan backlash, Microsoft and EA might ultimately take a u-turn on this one.

Definitely, this is surprising taking into account Microsoft’s recent position for online games.

Recently, the Xbox parent company changed their Xbox Live Gold requirements for games like Fortnite and Warzone. Yes, those are free-to-play, but ultimately they are online-dependent games.

EA has officially established the official dates for the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta in early October.

Lastly, if you are on PC, you will definitely be interested in the official Battlefield 2042 PC requirements for this title.

Finger crossed for the Xbox Live Gold limitation lift so more players can jump in and enjoy the Open Beta.
