Fortnite Battle Royale Aim Assist is something that console players get or you can get if you hook a controller into your PC. It’s put into the game to help console players aim, which is good when it’s just on console. The problem is though, PlayStation Players can play with PC players and players can hook a controller into their computer. Since PC players don’t have Aim Assist, it becomes an unfair experience for them.
Fortnite Battle Royale Aim Assist Discovery:
I didn’t know how good it was or if it was good at all so, I grabbed a controller hooked it up to my PC and turned on Aim Assist. It took me a few games to get use to playing with a controller. But once I did I discovered how incredibly easy it is to hit not only body shots, but head shots also. Basically all I had to do was zoom in with a gun and it was a head shot. If the player moved then Aim Assist follows them, but I did discover if you zoom in and out with the gun it would always aim towards the head. So you can imagine with a gun like a pump shot gun it would just be one pump after one pump. Here is a clip of Aim Assist in action.
As you can see here, when I zoomed in I basically didn’t miss a shot. The one time I didn’t zoom I did miss, but other than that I hit every shot even at a distance. At first I didn’t believe it when PC players were saying Fortnite Battle Royale Aim Assist was Auto Aim, I figured it was just anger after being killed. But after testing it out I have to agree with them, it doesn’t seem right that something most people would get banned for is apart of the PC universe. This topic has been a widely discussed problem in many games other than just Fortnite, some games even have petitions to get it removed.
Many things can be done to fix what some may call Auto Aim. One of the most suggested things that can be done is, having it disabled when playing with PC players or using a controller on a PC. Some others just want it toned down a bit, so it isn’t so accurate with every shot.
Controller players say, that using a keyboard and mouse is easier to aim and in this game especially easier to build. When it comes to the building aspect I have to agree it is much easier to build using a keyboard and mouse, especially since PC players can change the keybinding. When it comes to the aiming aspect having Aim Assist gives a large advantage to the players using a controller. The ability to zoom and track a player is a advantage that a certain group shouldn’t have over the other.
