Fortnite Season 4

Season 4 is here; it has finally happened. So, the meteor has landed on the Fortnite Battle Royale map. As we predicted, the main meteor hit Dusty Depot, leaving a new point of interest known as ‘Dusty Divot’ in its wake. However, the eradication of Dusty was not the only change made to the map.

What’s New in Season 4?

Here is a handy little image which clearly highlights many of the changes seen on the map since the update for Season 4. As you can see ‘Dusty Divot’ is a large meteor-sized crater. Inside the crater appears to be some form of building structure – potentially a research base? Around the location, new additions called ‘Hop Rocks’ appear which give you a temporary boost. The boost is low gravity which makes you jump higher. See below for a picture of the new location:

Another new location has appeared at the top right of the map: Risky Reels. This new point of interest appears to be a drive-in theatre with multiple cars scattered around a crater in the center. In addition, Hop Rocks also appear in this crater – could they appear in other craters too?

Smaller Additions

As you can see in the picture above, there are plenty of new crater spaces dotted around. There appears to be one in between Haunted Hills and Snobby (approx B4); one next to the racecourse just above Moisty (I6-7); one crater is just to the left of Fatal Fields (F8) and the prison in H8 appears to have been hit. This list is not exhaustive as there are multiple new craters across the entire map.

Ironically, Tilted Towers also found itself a victim of the craters.

As you can see to the right of the player there is a crater in one of the central buildings of Tilted. From this image, we can gather that the Hop Rocks found in Dusty Divot are present in other crater-spots across the Battle Royale Map.

Other additions include a mansion-like building added to Lonely Lodge and a movie set in Moisty Mire. Other users have reported that there is a building on the side of a mountain outside of Snobby Shores. Needless to say, the new locations have spiced up the map that so many were bored of during Season 3. Although Tilted Towers still stands, there are new places for players to land and loot up.

What do you think of the new points of interest in the map? Have you used the Hop Rocks yet? Let us know your thoughts on the Battle Royale updates at @FortniteBattle.
