Apex Legends Season 3 Release Date/Time, Trailer, Leaks, New Character & More

Apex Legends took the battle royale scene by storm back in February with a surprise launch. Developers Respawn Entertainment, predominantly known for the Titanfall series, provided a new spin to the genre by providing heroes for players to choose from with abilities that brought a fresh breath of new air to the battlefield.

Needless to say, the title grew massively. Respawn has being playing catch up ever since in order to provide content to keep players entertained and engaged for the long run.

On July 2nd, Respawn kicked off Season 2 of Apex Legends, including a revamped battle pass, a new legend by the name of Wattson, and changes to King’s Canyon. Although it didn’t surpass as many milestones as the initial season, players are looking towards the future of Apex Legends.

When is Apex Legends Season 3 coming out?

Apex Legends Roadmap

Back in February, Respawn shared a timeline of what to expect for the rest of the year.

One thing to note is that the dates do not match up, as Season 2 launched in July, while each season roughly lasts 3 months, and resets occur on Tuesday. Assuming this trend continues, Season 2 will end in October with Season 3 picking up right after.

Who is the Next Apex Character?

With the introduction of the past two Seasons, Respawn has included two new Legends. Season 1 brought the high flying Octane, and Season 2 brought the electrically charged Wattson.

Leading up to the release of these characters, leaks popped up indicating who could see joining the Apex Legend’s roster. Newer leaks and teasers have been pointing to who the newest legend could be, and the character goes by the name of Crypto.

Crypto Teaser

During the Season 2 trailer, an unknown character is shown using a laptop activating an EMP. Many believe that this could be one of Crypto’s abilities.

An interesting wrinkle to this is that Crypto maybe coming before the end of Season 2. Provided the character is real, Crypto’s inclusion in the Season 2 trailer could point to a release later on in the season instead of a Season 3 release. So what does that mean for the next season?

Dataminers have been hard at work uncovering all of Apex Legends secrets. “That1MiningGuy” recently uncovered the possibility of a female character by the name of Rosie. Rosie, according to That1MiningGuy, is a mentor to the newest legend Wattson.

Towards the end of July, we spoke about the potential of a third possible legend, by the name of Buddy. For those at home keeping count, Apex Legends could be receiving three new legends within the coming months.

What to Expect

Respawn took their time to discuss Season 2 in depth at the EA Access event during E3. At this moment it remains unknown when we will get information on the next season.

If the trend continues, players can expect changes to the map on a similar scale to the changes Season 2 brought. That1MiningGuy uncovered data files detailing forest spiders, which could possibly point to a another change in the map.

As for the Battle Pass, the last two seasons have seen the pass cost 950 Apex coins. Players could also purchase a 2,800 Apex coin edition of the battle pass to unlock the first 25 levels.

Apex Legends Season 3 will be upon us sooner than you think. What are your hopes for the upcoming addition to the title?
