As with all three World Bosses in Diablo 4, Avarice, The Gold Cursed’s spawn times are based on a set pattern. They have been calculated and logged by the Diablo 4 community.

Within the 6 hour window for when World Bosses can spawn, there are two-hour blocks where they may appear.

Avarice, The Gold Cursed can spawn in one of these two-hour blocks every six hours or so. It’s an estimate but will give you a good indication of when the next World Boss is likely to appear

World Boss Spawn Patterns

The World Boss that spawns is based on a 3-2-3-2 pattern. The same World Boss will spawn three times in a row, followed by the next spawning two times in a row following the 3-2-3-2 pattern. It begins with the Wandering Death to Avarice and then Ashava.

The spawn pattern looks like this: Wandering Death (3) – Avarice (2) – Ashava (3) – Wandering Death (2) – Avarice (3) – Ashava (2) – Wandering Death (3)… and so on!

The most effective way of finding out when Avarice, The Gold Cursed will spawn is by using a community tracker. It uses all the above data to predict and accurately estimate when World Bosses will spawn. It’s the best way of finding out when you can next take on Avarice.

How to Beat Avarice, The Gold Cursed in Diablo 4

The best way of beating Avarice is by dodging his devastating close-range melee attacks and avoiding his Golden Pools which will slow you and inflict damage over time.

Staggering Avarice with Crowd Control effects is the most effective way of dealing lots of damage in a short space of time.

Avarice, The Gold Cursed is a massive behemoth with devastating melee attacks. He wields a giant mace and a huge chained treasure chest that he uses as a powerful hammer.

Applying Crowd Control is the best way of dealing damage to Avarice. You deal Crowd Control when a when you apply a status effect such as freeze, stun, or slow. These do not apply status effects to World Bosses. Crowd Control damages their Stamina meter instead.

Once Avarice’s stamina meter is full, he will enter the Staggered state. This immobilizes Avarice, resulting in a few short seconds where you can deal massive amounts of damage to him.

When you Stagger Avarice, he spawns two Treasure Goblins. Hunt them down for even more gold and loot.

Avarice, The Gold Cursed’s Attacks & Moves

Here are Avarice’s attacks and the best ways to deal with them:

    • Leave melee range and evade

  • Ground Stomp: Avarice stomps into the ground and releases a shockwave
    • Avoid the stomp itself and time your dodge when the shockwave approaches
  • Chained Chest Attack: Avarice throws his chained treasure chest out in front of him and spins it in front of him, dealing large amounts of damage in a sweeping radius
    • Get as close to Avarice as possible to avoid the large damaging radius
