All New Games Microsoft Owns After Activision Blizzard Purchase

Microsoft just made one of the biggest gaming acquisitions in history by purchasing Activision Blizzard, and Xbox now owns some major games and franchises.

In case you haven’t heard, Microsoft is buying Activision Blizzard for a staggering $68.7 billion. And although the price seems steep, it’s worth noting that Activision is the publisher for some of gaming’s biggest franchises.

Of course, most notably Activision is known for the Call of Duty franchise, with yearly releases that dominate the charts. But could Modern Warfare 2 be Xbox exclusive now that Microsoft owns the series?

It’s more than just Call of Duty joining the Xbox team, however. The likes of World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, Crash Bandicoot, and Candy Crush are now going to be official Microsoft properties.

And the good news is, a huge amount of Activision Blizzard games are coming to Xbox Game Pass! Of course, the buyout won’t officially be complete until mid-2023, so Game Pass subscribers will have to wait for this huge backlog of titles to finally arrive.
