We have just received exclusive intel from a tipster suggesting the Battle Royale version of Call of Duty is coming to Nintendo Switch. This is potentially huge news for Nintendo Switch and would make it the first Call of Duty title to be available on Switch.
Call of Duty ‘Battle Royale’ Nintendo Switch Leak
The leak came from a source asking to stay anonymous but we have corroborated this information with another leak from our own trusted source and it rings true. Please note, this DOES NOT mean Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch, because we have reliable information it’s definitely not. As stated in our recently posted article, the Battle Royale version is a separate game to Black Ops 4 but planned to be bundled at launch for other platforms.
As previously reported, Raven Software is rumored to be the developer behind the Call of Duty ‘Battle Royale’ with Treyarch. Our recent leak also stated that the development firm Beenox is involved with the Battle Royale development.
Call of Duty ‘Battle Royale’ Nintendo Switch Release Date
The exact name of the game is so far a mystery, so far we know it as ‘Call of Duty Battle Royale’, however we wouldn’t be surprised if Activision wanted to stamp their own brand on the BR concept with a bit more marketing subtly. We know it’s likely to follow the same concept as Fortnite and PUBG with loot to find while the map gradually gets smaller, eventually leaving 1 winner.
The release for Battle Royale on other versions is rumored to be alongside Black Ops 4 on October 12th, 2018 as a bundle. However, it will not be bundled for the Switch and just a standalone game. We also expect Activision to release the Call of Duty Battle Royale Nintendo Switch version on October 12th, 2018.
In my opinion, a Battle Royale version of Call of Duty would resonate with the Nintendo fanbase more than an out and out authentic boots on the ground Call of Duty shooter. There have been lots of rumors in the past about CoD titles hitting the Switch platform, but this one strikes me as the one which may just come true.
We do stress this is a rumor, but we have done our due diligence and it adds up with other parts of information we’ve been withholding from an entirely different source. Make of it what you will, but the ‘Forget What You Know’ phrase is starting to make a lot more sense now.
