Rumours suggest that the GTA 6 release date is going to be delayed until 2020. Although Rockstar Games haven’t officially revealed any information as of yet, rumours and leaks are starting to spill. Only the Rockstar Games / Grand Theft Auto 6 development team really know the anticipated release date however, with no teasers revealed so far it’s starting to look like the GTA 6 release date will be delayed…
GTA 6 Release Date Delayed Until 2020?
Issues With GTA 6 Development
Although this is only speculation, we suspect that Rockstar could be experiencing issues with making GTA 6 VR compatible. With technology and gaming advancing exponentially, it gives game developers a real headache when anticipating exactly how the market will be in years to come. Accurately predicting this is vital to the success of games such as the Grand Theft Auto series. With there being such a big window between the initial development of a game and its release, this forces developers to do their research. Although many fans will be very disappointed, it’s likely that Rockstar did this for a much better game.
GTA 6 Development Cost
With some estimates stating that the overall development cost of GTA 6 is expected to be around the $500 million mark, Rockstar understandably will want to make sure that this money is being used efficiently and to good use. This is where planning and research is so important, and delays to the release date are perhaps a worthwhile sacrifice.
Previous GTA Series Release Date’s
Most GTA’s in the past have been a 4-5 year gap if this continued, GTA 6 would be released in 2017/18 however, with no teasers being revealed by Rockstar it seems that they are a long way off.
